Unemployment in the euro zone was at a record 11.4 percent in August.  This unemployment number is even higher than the United States’ August rate of 8.1 percent.  The two most economically troubled countries in the euro zone, Greece and Spain, also recorded record-high unemployment percents, at 24.4 percent and 25.1 percent, respectively.
